mozaic beach club
Beach lovers who hate the inconvenience of the actual beach,
the horrors of brushing sand off your feet, lack of loos, no cold beer are spoiled for choice in Bali with plenty of
“beach clubs” clambering for their business. These fancy, umbrella- and
deckchair-clad bars skirt the beach, boast a pool and extensive cocktail menu,
and end up costing you far more than a quick dip in the ocean would. Mozaic
Beach Club Lounge on Batu Belig beach is the latest addition to the more
exclusive collection of clubs, and if you’ve got the money to spend, it’s worth
a try.
We’re not saying you should skip the beach, some of our favorite Bali beaches are well
away from the big sunglasses set, down on the Bukit but if you’ve got a reason
to celebrate, or you do feel like a few hours in a private cabana interspersed
with some non-sandy swimming in clean water (yes, Bali’s beaches can get
polluted) then Mozaic offers a classy
alternative.
We’ve visited a few times in recent months with holidaying
friends, and while we think the staff could loosen up a little, having a bottle
of water belonging to our four-year-old son not very politely confiscated on
arrival was a bit over the top, it’s a
good venue for just hanging out, particularly if you have kids in tow but
aren’t in the mood for chasing them all over the beach.
